Understand sheet-size limits
Every board material has manufacturing dimensions. If a requested piece exceeds the available sheet, divide the design into panels intentionally.

Use it where rigidity matters
Foam board is useful when a poster needs to stay flat without a frame, such as at an exhibition, reception or presentation area.
Handle large boards carefully
Lightweight boards can dent or damage at corners. Transport and installation should be planned, especially for oversized pieces.
Prepare artwork to the final panel layout
If two boards will be joined, build the artwork with the seam position in mind rather than splitting a completed design at the last minute.
Design around the installation, not the computer screen
Large-format print should be planned from the physical viewing environment. Measure the actual installation space, note whether the piece is indoors or outdoors, and estimate how far away the typical viewer will stand. Text that looks large on a laptop can become unreadable from across a room, while small compressed images can become visibly soft when enlarged. Keep critical content away from eyelets, hardware, panel joins and trim edges. Transport also matters: a rigid board and a retractable banner require different handling. If the display must fit an existing frame or stand, use the confirmed hardware dimensions before the artwork is finalised.
What to send when requesting a quotation
For a useful quotation, send the finished size, paper or material, printing sides, quantity, finishing requirements, print-ready artwork if available, required date and delivery location. If any item is still undecided, explain how the printed piece will be used so a suitable specification can be suggested. For an urgent job, include the exact time by which the completed item must be collected or delivered. This avoids quoting a specification that cannot realistically meet the deadline.
Send the exact finished dimensions so board size and panel joins can be confirmed before production.
