Digital vs Offset Flyer Printing: Which Is Better for Your Quantity?
Digital and offset printing can both produce good flyers. Digital is often practical for shorter, faster runs, while offset becomes efficient for larger quantities and repeatable production conditions.

Digital printing reduces setup for shorter runs
Digital presses do not require traditional printing plates, so they can be efficient for shorter quantities and urgent jobs where setup time matters.

Offset printing is strong at scale
Offset production requires more setup but can be economical and consistent for high-volume jobs. The quantity at which it becomes preferable depends on size, paper, colour and the production setup.
Do not choose a method before defining the job
A customer normally needs to specify the result rather than the machine. Give the printer the size, stock, quantity, sides, deadline and finishing so the production method can be chosen appropriately.
How to apply this in a real flyer job
Start with the action you want the reader to take, then work backwards into size, paper and quantity. A flyer for mass residential distribution usually needs a different balance of cost and durability from a premium handout at a sales presentation. Keep one dominant message on the front, make the contact action easy to find, and avoid shrinking text simply because there is empty space. If the campaign uses a QR code, test it from the final PDF and again from a printed proof or same-size screen preview. When comparing prices, compare like-for-like specifications: the same finished size, GSM, number of printed sides, quantity, finishing and turnaround. A lower headline price is not useful if the paper, delivery or production timing is different.
What to send when requesting a quotation
For a useful quotation, send the finished size, paper or material, printing sides, quantity, finishing requirements, print-ready artwork if available, required date and delivery location. If any item is still undecided, explain how the printed piece will be used so a suitable specification can be suggested. For an urgent job, include the exact time by which the completed item must be collected or delivered. This avoids quoting a specification that cannot realistically meet the deadline.
QPS pricing is organised by finished size, paper, sides and quantity so you can focus on the result rather than the machine.
